I Pave owner-manager Daryl McLachlan has been concreting and paving in and around Christchurch since about 1980.
In 1998 he decided to set up his own, 100% Canterbury-owned, business and is now one of the top handful of such firms serving the region. (With its fleet of bright yellow vehicles, it is certainly one of the best recognised.)
The company specialises in cut concrete and exposed aggregate finishes. It also has a specialist contrete cutting team.
I Pave began with just two people, but gradual growth has seen the full-time staff number increase to 13. There are now well over 1000 Canterbury homes with driveways and patios constructed by I Pave. Large, high-profile clients include the Dux de Lux restaurant and the QEII sports complex.
I Pave's philosophy is to always be up to date with the latest products and techniques, and staff regularly visit other New Zealand centres and travel overseas to keep abreast of trends.
